Continuing my Tiny Spring Poems, this is the second part that includes three haikus and one longer poem. I intentionally left out poem no. 14, things, which you can read in my notes, as I felt that one was an entirely different beast that will eventually get some attention in its own right. On the other hand, the four poems I put together here very much flow together, with a common style and motifs, and I paired them with some beautiful photos that enhance the verses.
Today was a sunny, warm day; a proper feeling of spring and rejuvenation at last. Kids enjoyed playing in the garden and my bones enjoyed soaking up the sun. It gave me a small boost of energy needed to bake a sourdough bread and brainstorm some lovely new vegan patties. I'm enjoying my new cooking and baking endeavours, with a vision that one day we'll achieve a complete food sovereignty. A girl can dream, right? At the very least, tending to our healthy eating habits occupies my mind with something other than the horrors of the world, even if only for a couple of moments. It's a tiny act of balancing the light and the darkness - not unlike writing poems in praise of Nature. The Tiny Spring Poems might be over, but you can definitely expect more poetry like this in the future.
11. hidden Decomposing leaves And bugs on the forest floor: Hidden joy of life
12. tree Crown of leaves above, Crown of roots below the ground. A wren sings of life.
13. after The sweet scent that fills The air and lungs after rain: As precious as gold.
15. marking As I leave my trace in the sand Carving it softly with driftwood sticks, Old limpets and empty crab shells, I wonder how many stood here And pushed and shaped the sand And whispered to it, same as me; Maybe uttered the very same words And the sand talked and shaped them back.
Lovely. Especially ideas in the sand piece ❤️
These are beautiful, Ramona and I'm sure the sand did talk. And shape.
